Hi to all from Flicka. we are now in Charleston meandering our way to the Turks. Expect to go offshore tomorrow evening an make our way to Jax for a few projects before crossing. Sitting in the rain at anchor and enjoying some classical music for now.

Flicka is still for sale as I still own 1/2 of a Cape Dory 40 up north. She is detailed on the website. Had a major refit in 1995 costing $28,000. I spent about $17,000 additional over the past 5 years of ownership. Adding, maintaining and repairing.

I added a heat exchanger like Pauls on the Westerbeke 30 (3400 hours and still ticking) The plumbing goes from a tee off of the temp sensor and terminates at he top of the thermostat housing. The hot side of the exchanger uses 5/8" radiator hose ! and effectively bypasses the thermostat. The engine ran very cold so I added a valve to restrict the hot side flow. The water on the secondary side is very hot! I estimate 120-140 degrees! Much too hot for a shower. I will add a hot/cold mixer and try to get a nice warm flow. Any thoughts? Other ideas? Will a shower mixer with a thrmostat like the new shower valves use work?

Hi again to all from Flicka 38k in Key West.

Yes regretfully I now will be selling Flicka. My brother and I with partners will be doing some extended cruising and Flicka although perfect for a couple is just too small for the four of us. I will list her for $40,000. Details listed below. I'd appreciate your thoughts. I am not in a particular hurry and expect to bring her to the Bahamas in the Spring and up to New London for the summer.

Flicka lying in Key West Florida winter, Bahamas Spring and New London CT summer 2003. Will deliver anywhere. New owner can accompany delvery.
