Mermaid

In July of 2019 Mermaid's new owner sent the following information:

I bought her from Willie Glover of Arbroath, Scotland in April of this year. Willie had sailed her from Chesapeake Bay in, I think, 2008 - single handed to the UK via Bermuda and the Azores. By the time he reached Dover in SE England, he called for some help on the final run up the UK East Coast to her (now) home port of Arbroath, Scotland. He is in his mid-eighties now so must've been in his 70's when he brought her across the Atlantic.

She has been little used in the past ten years and one of my first tasks prior to purchase was to have her slipped so we could have a survey done and power-wash her hull. Then scrape, sand and antifoul before relaunch. Moisture readings were taken of the hull and found to be mainly low, with some just approaching the medium category.

Since then, my wife and I have been busy restoring her interior woodwork and getting to know her systems. Also an engine service - it appears that she still has the original Westerbeke 27 four cylinder Diesel engine fitted, with a paltry 1300 hours on the clock!
