Here's a picture of our Galatea as she crosses the finish line of a recent race on the Neuse River. We came in first in our class. My wife Georgea is at the helm.

Martin and Georgea Culpepper, 002K

Galatea is a 1975 ASWII, a terrific example of the solid, go-anywhere, accomplished world-cruising design that has gathered so many positive reviews through the years:

·         John Vigor – "The Allied Seawind II is the sort of world cruiser that will appeal to those who can't stand crawl-only headroom. She's one of the roomiest 32-footers around, one of the heaviest, and one of the fittest for sea work. She's ready for the ocean without any beefing up or modification."

·         Practical Sailor – "Capable Cruiser:The Seawind II – Allied Yachts Seawind sequel is built bluewater tough for offshore life"

·         Sailing – "The Allied Seawind II is a genuine bluewater boat, albeit in a small package….the option of taking a bluewater sabbatical may be more affordable than you thought"

·         Bluewaterboats.org – "Overall the Seawind II today is a practical and affordable choice as a go-anywhere cruiser. She's strong without being overly heavy, well constructed and proven."

Galatea has been continuously upgraded since acquisition in 2012, in all over $10,000 worth of upgrades in materials alone. She is currently on the hard in Haverstraw, NY. Winter cover will be coming off within the next couple of weeks, with splash set for the beginning of May, 2017
